As far as bang for your buck Sea Hunts are hard to beat. Great riding boats with a lot of standard features, definitely worth a look.

Nauti Dog, Sea Hunt 26′

Interview with the Captain – Kellen Easterby

About the boat

Why did you choose to buy this particular boat and what else did you consider?
I have had three sea hunts and I also sell them for a local dealer. So I never really considered anything else – lol.

What boats have you previously owned?
Sea Hunt Triton 172, Sea Hunt Victory 225

What are the features you like most about your boat?
I love the enclosed hardtop. Also, the nice flared out hull. Really everything the boat has to offer!

What features/improvements have you added or do you plan to add?
We added outriggers, radar, satellite weather/radio, and a sub/amp kit at the time of purchase.

Where have you traveled with your boat?/what do you have planned?
Haven’t been anywhere with it yet, but would love to take it to the Keys.

Do you belong to a yacht club/marina or other boating organizations?
We belong to the James Island Yacht Club.

What is the biggest challenge you have in servicing your boat?
We use it so much we have the routine service done often – lol!

Who first introduced you to boating?
My dad when I was very young!

Do you have any advice for those looking to buy a whaler like yours?
As far as bang for your buck Sea Hunts are hard to beat. Great riding boats with a lot of standard features, definitely worth a look.

What’s the story behind the boat’s name?
We’re big dog people and have three paws in the boat name. One for each!

Any recent boating-related purchase you’ve been enjoying (e.g. product/tool/equipment etc)?
Not much recently.  Just enjoying everything the boat has on it.

Do you have any other notable resources you use (apps, devices, etc)?
The satellite weather through the Garmins is a nice feature. Like the ReefCast app and Buoyweather app for offshore forecasts.
