How would you describe what makes your company special?
We try to teach as much as possible rather than showing the bare minimum needed. We go out of our way to teach every step of the experience. From why we are fishing at this particular spot at that tide and time of day, how to properly anchor on the spot, how to fish and reel in the fish properly, to even teaching adults and children the differences in each species that are caught. We go out of our way to make sure you get the proper pictures, so you have memories for a lifetime.
What are the most important things you hope to accomplish on each venture?
We strive to give our guests a “perfect” trip every time. Dolphins, eagles, fun and hard fighting fish, and some dinner to take home (if requested). We want you to leave with a plethora of new knowledge, a huge smile on your face, and a strong need to return to fish with us again.
About Your Boat
Who first introduced you to boating/fishing?
My father and grandfather took me freshwater and saltwater fishing as often as they could.
Do you have a favorite game fish (and/or season)?
The spring and fall, I love targeting big Bull Red Drum. In the summer, I love getting hooked into Giant King Mackerel.
What’s your most memorable catch (or story from a trip)?
Watching my wife catch an 85lb tarpon on a 3000 spinning reel in Puerto Rico is my current proudest moment. My favorite moment for myself would be catching a 9lb largemouth when I was 8 with my grandfather. My favorite memory from a charter would be having a five-year-old reel in a 51” bull red drum
What’s your advice for less experienced anglers?
Watch and listen to your guide. If they are a good guide, they will make sure you have all the information you will need before you are hooked into the fish.
Most under-rated piece of equipment or tackle?
Any and all safety equipment. All the bells and whistles that help you “find fish” will never help you when something goes wrong.
Do you have any other notable resources you use (apps, devices, etc)?
I use standard bottom finders, gps, weather apps, and side sonar. Anything more than that is not needed.
Why did you choose to buy your model of boat?
Both of my boats are beasts. My first charter boat did 7500 charters in the Keys and then 5400 charters in Georgia before I bought it. I upgraded the engine and the electronics. Now I run 30-60 charters a month on it.
What other kinds of boats did you consider before buying this model?
None
How did you come to find/locate her before purchasing?
The current charter captain was retiring and was a personal friend of mine.
What boats have you previously owned?
Too many to list and none compared to the current boats I now run regularly.
What are the features you like most about your boat?
They float and kill fish. Every day.
What features/improvements have you added, or do you plan to add?
Added new engines with more horsepower and new electronics.
How do you typically use your boat over the summer, and where do you go?
I run inshore, nearshore, and offshore year round; not only in the summer.
What is the biggest challenge you have in servicing your boat?
I do all of the services and repairs myself. So my biggest challenge is not being on the water that day.
